EXIM is steadfast in its efforts at maintaining the highest standard of corporate social responsibility. We recognise the balance between delivering on our organisational mandate and promoting the sustainable development of the country through philanthropic efforts to promote the health and safety of our children. We place priority on forming strategic alliances that will facilitate the protection and physical and mental development of children who are in vulnerable and less fortunate circumstances. EXIM Bank is not only committed to developing the productive sector and contributing to national development therefore, but also to developing the youth of the country and giving back to communities islandwide.

This philosophy is also inculcated in staff and internal initiatives were encouraged during the period under review. Reporting year 2017/2018 therefore, was another rewarding year for the Bank with respect to having an impact on those less fortunate. Corporate Social Responsibility activities included:

The presentation of a cheque in October 2017 to Food for the Poor towards hurricane relief efforts in Dominica after Hurricane Maria’s catastrophic landfall. This donation was primarily realised through staff members’ aggressive fund-raising initiatives which were then matched by the Bank.

The donation of a drum set to the Salvation Army School for the Blind in December 2017.

The staging of the Annual Christmas Treat at the Missionaries for the Poor in December 2017. Spearheaded by Staff Social Outreach arm of the Bank, donations were made in both cash and kind.

Participation in the February 2018 staging of the Sigma Corporate Run. The Bank fielded a team of 104 participants for this popular charitable initiative, its largest contingent to date.
